The echo of every existence.
A participatory art project. Open to everyone, children included.
Are we as different as we believe? We live in a world that separates us by age, country, culture or language. This project asks the opposite question: what unites us beneath all of that.

It is an art installation built with letters. People from different countries, ages and cultures write a fragment of their life (a loss, a joy, a memory that marked them) and each letter becomes the seed of a painting.
As I gather them, I look for relationships between them: which experiences repeat, which emotions appear again and again, how the stories change according to the age or place of the writer. From that analysis ten pieces are born that dialogue with the words received, accompanied by the letters themselves and a sound track that reads them in several languages.
The result is a sensory space where painting, text and sound intertwine to show something simple and profound: that, above our differences, what truly runs through us is the same.
Everyone, regardless of age, country, language or experience with art. Children too: their way of looking at life is valuable and welcome. Each letter is a unique fragment that adds to this collective work.
Write a letter in your language, in your own words. You can tell a stage of your life, an emotion that marked you, an experience that transformed you. There are no strict rules, only authenticity.
Important: state somewhere in the letter how old you were when the story happened and how old you are now. It is a key detail to place your account within the life cycle the work explores.
Send it by post to
La Toza Coworking & Coliving
Your letter will be read, respected and, if you wish, will become part of a letter exchange with other participants once the exhibition ends.

Life in Fragments has a new home: La Toza Coworking & Coliving, a meeting space in the Jerte Valley where people from all over the world cross paths. A small village in Cáceres turned into an arrival point for stories that come from far away — that is exactly what this project speaks about.
La Toza is not just the address to send your letter to. It is a living part of the project: a place where letters are read aloud, where people gather to share what strangers from other countries, other ages, other lives have written. A space where the global and the local meet, just as in this work.
Don't worry. Your full name and postal address will be kept safe and will never be made public. The content of your letter, however, may become part of the art installation: it is the heart of the project.
If you feel you have something to tell, this is your moment. Write. Send. Take part. Your letter may be the missing fragment that completes this work.
